Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit—awesome musician and songwriter.
Holy fuck, Paramore! My friend’s husband is head of Paramore’s security so she called last week and asked if I wanted go. Pop-punk, really more punk pop? Really not my thing. But free ticket? Sure, I’ll go.
They kicked ass! That may have been one of the most entertaining shows I’ve seen in quite some time! And the opener, Kitten? Like a fucking John Hughes soundtrack on speed!
Wayne Coyne on his pulpit! The Lips? Awesome. Black Keys? Still don’t get it. I have a theory, people who don’t listen to very much music will say, “I don’t listen to much music but I like Coldplay and The Black Keys. Oh, and the Avett Brothers are pretty good too.” Read into that what you will.
The second and third pics are not mine, and apparently represent the show if one a) was closer and b) could take good pictures!
More from Saturday’s Lip’s show. Last shot was taken during their cover of Floyd’s “Brain Damage” and “Eclipse”.

And it rocked. Oh, yes, it rocked.
